[:1]I was wondering what the general thoughts about LFR Gurth vs Cata Glad weapon for PVP.
Im relatively new to DK, only hit 85 couple weeks back so heres what i know
1.Gurth does more damage in PVE
2.Resilience is majorly important
3.Haste is UH DK #1 non-str stat after 5% hit
4. Secondary stats > unreliable proc
All of the obvious points in one direction, yet I've heard conflicting suggestions. Perhaps the breakdown goes further than my current knowledge and someone out there knows more?
heres to hoping
non-elite weapon that is...bump
Its a personal thing really. Gurth's proc is really nice -when you get it- and the cata wep is higher overall damage, not by much, but its still more strength and a higher damage. What do you need more of? Reliable pressure? Or a proc that will drop someone exceptionally fast? In my play testing I've found that Gurth sometimes has procced 2-3 tenticles at once when I'm fighting someone and totally obliterates them. Then my next go I won't get a single proc for a long time. Mastery stacked unholy is even better 18k ticks per tenticle on even high resilience targets? Yes, its that awesome.
All in all, its a personal thing as I said. Reliable pressure or random super bursts.
The only feasible reason for taking the PVP weapon over gurth is the resilience.
The ~2% extra damage reduction can come in handy for sure.
The negligible amount of str, and even more negligible amount of weapon damage (about 10% of PvP damage is based on weapon damage for unholy) are not a reason to pick one over the other.
My personal advice would be to decide on a game by game basis.
Doing 3s and facing Rmp? You're going to want that 2% dmg reduction. You won't be meleeing often, and rmp openers tear dks up.
Doing 2's and facing healer dps? Not much damage is going out, and you'll be beating on either player for an extended period of time to burn through CDs. The burst from tenticle(s) (i've had 3 up at once) can really aid in getting a kill.
