[:1]I picked up heroic Cudgel tonight and am a little unsure whether it'd be better than gurthalak until heroic gurth. With the tentacle mind flay scaling with mastery would the proc damage still out-weigh pure stats?
If you're lucky, Gurthalak will outdamage the Atraxis.
If you're unlucky, Atraxis will outdamage the Gurthalak.
The proc from Gurth can out weigh the stats from Atr but it does depend on the procs happening enough and piggy backing more damage thanks to your mastery. I'd suggest not using your weapon's stats for hit so that you could can swap between them to test and decide for yourself. I'd lean to the mace personally but the gamble of the tentacles can really pay off some pulls.
On a fight like Yorsaj where you have massive add damage I'd go with the mace. On some fights the tentacle procs just aren't that effective.
